The outboard engine adapter for all standard vented fuel cans moc.yddub-yrrej@selas :seiriuqnI

The JERRY-BUDDYTM fuel can adapter lets you use any standard fuel carrying cell as a temporary supply tank for any engine, including outboard boat engines. It fits snugly through the neck of fuel carrying cans and is held in place by the can's own screw-on cover.

It prevents spills from can-to-can transferring on a rocking boat - it allows you to supply the engine directly from your spare can of fuel.

The JERRY-BUDDYTM kit includes a tension-free solution for connecting marine snap-on style adapters, as well as options for connecting to fuel lines directly.

See the interactive diagram below for references. Get the printable instructions here.

Option 1

Connecting directly to a fuel supply line without a snap-in connector (recommended)

1. Remove threaded cap, spout and cover from gas can

2. Insert the hose end of the JERRY-BUDDYTM assembly (B) into gas can. Feed until the bung (A) rests against the can’s opening

3. Replace gas can cap, without spout and cover, ensuring to thread it on properly

4. Remove snap-in connector from engine's fuel supply hose (if installed)

5. For 1/4" and 5/16" hoses:
Place engine fuel supply hose over exposed JERRY-BUDDYTM tip (A) and secure with adjustable clamp (C)

For 3/8" hoses:

  • i. Place short hose (D) over exposed JERRY-BUDDYTM tip (A) and secure with adjustable clamp (C)
  • ii. Insert 3/8" adapter (E) into other end of short hose (D) and secure with adjustable clamp (C)
  • iii. Place engine fuel supply hose over adapter (E) and secure with adjustable clamp (C)

Option 2

Using your manufacturer's snap-in fuel line connector (not supplied; please see your dealer)

4. Place short hose (D) over exposed JERRY-BUDDYTM tip (A) and secure with adjustable clamp (C)

5. Insert threaded adapter (F) into other end of short hose (D) and secure with adjustable clamp (C)

6. Thread in a compatible snap-in adapter (G) according to your engine's specifications. Please see your manufacturer for details

Using non-vented fuel cans may cause the system to become air locked. Ventilation is required for proper operation.

Do not disassemble the JERRY-BUDDYTM assembly. Doing so may create an unsafe condition, and proper operation cannot be guaranteed.
